Yesterday, I came home from my infusion and laid down for a nap. I was woke up by my wife yelling, "GET UP! I CAN SEE IT THROUGH THE WINDOW!!"
"Damn it....see what?"
"THE TWISTER! GET UP!!!"
Even in my fog, I could hear the sirens in the back ground. I jumped out of bed and promptly tripped over one of the dogs. I scooped him up and ran for cover as I called the big dog.
I glanced out the window and saw the tornado about a block away baring down on us. We rushed down the stairs and out the door, but were faced by what looked liked a wall of water. We heard the loud noise it made and I yelled for my wife to get under the stairs. I doubted we had enough time to get to the storm shelter.
It seemed to go by as fast as it had come. Slowly everyone started coming out of their homes. There was much debris or damage in our immediate area. About a block away, you could see some damage. So, we went to see if anyone needed help - right after I changed my pants.
It was fairly cut and dry that it wasn't a big tornado, but there was some damage to buildings. We didn't find anyone injured or trapped, so we did what we could to help and then took some pictures of the damage.
